Zodiac – Pisces (f70r)
These circular zodiac diagrams do not seem to have just one meaning. On one level they can be read as a medical or herbal text, with references to plants, natural cycles, and observations of the sky. But at the same time another layer appears, one that feels more symbolic, almost philosophical or poetic.
What is interesting is that both readings seem to exist at the same time. In some places there are wordplays connected to botany or astronomy, while in others there appear to be hidden historical references and symbols of power.
That is what makes it so intriguing: it can be read literally, but also as a kind of coded narrative within the Voynich Manuscript.
