A Pause in the Publications

A little over six months ago, I began publishing weekly translations of my work on the Voynich Manuscript. What started years ago as a personal project, driven simply by my interest in the manuscript, has gradually grown into something considerably larger than I originally expected. In the years before I began publishing, I had accumulated translations, notes, and research material. That earlier work made it possible for me to begin publishing on a weekly basis and to share, over time, a substantial part of what I had already worked on. Things are somewhat different now. The work on the texts continues and, as is often the case when working more deeply with them, new questions concerning the translation continue to arise. Some of the issues that have come up recently require me to go back to certain passages, reconsider different possibilities, and spend more time studying them before moving on to the translations that remain to be published.
This does not mean that the translations published so far have become invalid. Rather, working with a text such as the Voynich Manuscript does not end simply because a translation seems to provide a satisfactory reading. As the work progresses, new elements emerge that can shed further light on earlier passages and, perhaps even more importantly, on the material that still lies ahead. And this is where a much more practical issue comes in: the amount of time I can devote to the project is limited.
My professional work remains my primary occupation, and this project is something I pursue in the time I am able to set aside outside of it. Maintaining a weekly publication schedule now requires more time than I can realistically devote to it while continuing to work through the new questions that have arisen. For that reason, the weekly publications will need to take a short pause over the coming weeks. The intention is to return to the translations once I have had the opportunity to devote the necessary time to reorganizing and completing the work that is currently pending. There would be little point in turning the weekly schedule into an obligation if keeping up with it meant taking time away from the study of the texts themselves.
The project is therefore continuing. The translations and the work on the manuscript are continuing as well; for a short period, the publication schedule simply needs to reflect the amount of time I can realistically devote to the work. There is still plenty of work ahead, and when I am able to resume publishing the next translations, I hope that this short pause will have allowed me to move the work forward with the attention it deserves.
As always, I am very grateful to everyone who has been following the publications and visiting this site. The growing interest in the project over these past months has been a wonderful surprise for something that, in the beginning, was simply a personal pursuit.
The work continues.
